Gods and Generals is the soundtrack to the 2003 film. Other than the opening and closing track, the album is entirely instrumental. It was critically praised for its thematic diversity and consistently high quality. It was even thought to be superior to the Gettysburg soundtrack composed by Randy Edelman. John Frizzell composed most of the score while Randy Edelman composed approximately 10 minutes of music.[3]
